Mr. Hegel represents plaintiffs in serious personal injury matters. These matters include automobile collision cases, premises liability, defective products cases, sexual harassment or discrimination based on one's sexual orientation, assault, work injuries, wrongful death.

Mr. Hegel has successfully achieved Jury Verdicts in personal injury litigation against major corporations. Front page of the Los Angeles Daily Journal titled "Gay Employee wins $900,000 for discrimination (G.R. v. Mag Instrument, Inc.); In another matter the Jury awarded $397,000 finding the plaintiff was subjected to sexual harassment (A.A. v. Shandin Hills Rehabilitation Center, Regency Health Services, Inc.et.al.); In 2006 for a worker's compensation matter he achieved a structured settlement for his client, with an annuity value of $1,612,686, who sustained a back injury at work (S.F. vs. Loma Linda University Medical Center).   In a premises liability matter he achieved a jury verdict for $619,000.00 for a client whose arm was crushed by an automatic gate ( D.W. v. Hunt Enterprises).

Education and Community Involvement
Mr. Hegel, born in Brooklyn, New York, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University in Queens, New York in 1976. He obtained his law degree in 1980 from Western State University, Orange County. Mr. Hegel graduated in the top 25% of his law class.

Continuing legal education is important to Eddie Hegel.  Over the years he has taken numerous courses to hone and advance his legal skills; such as a course on California evidence at USC  given by the Honorable Bernard F. Jefferson, and practical psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Mr. Hegel volunteered his time as Judge Pro Tempore for six years in the West Orange County Judicial District.
